It is my honour and pleasure to invite you to take part in the Jubilee Conference being organized to mark the 50th anniversary of the creation of the JU Institute of Molecular Biology – a unit from which the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology is directly descended.

Over half a century, subsequent generations of scientists have been successful in creating one of the best equipped and most well-recognized scientific centres in Poland in the field of biomolecular research.  I am glad that we will be celebrating this success together, in the company of former and current employees of the IMB and the FBBB, as well as friends from Poland and abroad, who have contributed significantly to putting us in the position where we are now.

The meeting in September will be a perfect opportunity to thank a great many people for all the hard work they put in to ensure that the FBBB remains at the top of the rankings in terms of the quality of the research it conducts and its teaching.

I am convinced that, thanks to the lectures to be given by our distinguished guests, the Jubilee Conference will prove to be a truly inspiring event in the scientific calendar. I also hope that our meeting and sharing of experiences will open up new paths for the development of our Faculty.

Dean of the FBBB
Jolanta Jura
